Ariane Bodysuit by Seamwork

Ariane Bodysuit by Seamwork

The Ariane Bodysuit by Seamwork Magazine caught my eye as soon as it was released. I was never into bodysuits in the 90s but have come to really enjoy wearing them in the last few years (specifically my Nettie bodysuits). While many bodysuits look like a regular old tucked-in fitted shirt, the Ariane with its thin straps and defined cups has very strong lingerie vibes. Bodysuits are great for layering and for creating a really smooth tucked-in top to show off a fitted skirt or pants.

DIY Funnel Neck Top – Review of the Piper Top by Christine Haynes

Hi friends! When I moved to Southern California, I really never thought that I’d be wearing, let alone making a turtleneck ever again. I had some favorite turtleneck tops that I love but every time I wore them I’d become incredibly over heated. But after moving to the west side of LA, I’ve been so cold. So, a long sleeve, high neck shirt was called for. Plus, I’ll be going to Copenhagen this spring and I plan to bring this as one of my layering pieces (see more about my travel wardrobe plan here).

DIY Shirtdress – Review of the Kalle Shirtdress by Closet Case Patterns

DIY Shirtdress – Review of the Kalle Shirtdress by Closet Case Patterns

Today I’m sharing a not-at-all-ordinary shirtdress, the Kalle Shirtdress by Closet Case Patterns. Why not ordinary? Well, this pattern is packed with great design details like a dramatic curved hem and an oversized fit. In truth, I made the most traditional version, with sleeves and a button placket all the way down the front. But now that I’ve already tested this pattern once, I’m excited to try some of the other variations. Because they have a lot of details, shirt dresses are fun to sew and a great way to practice new skills. This dress is part of my sewing plans for my upcoming trip to Copenhagen and the pattern is on my 2018 Make Nine list. Two birds, one stone!
