Today, I'm excited to share another recent make! I've had this sweet, and pretty dress in my mind for a couple of years now and it was great to finally bring it into being. I love the classic button front design, the v-neckline and swishy gathered skirt. This dress is the perfect combo of comfort and dressy. Nothing is restricting and the style is just really lovely. Read on for all the details.
DIY Racerback Maxi Dress – Summer sweatsuit pattern hack
Hello sew-friends! Today I have a simple but oh-so-good pattern hack for you. For this hack, I'm taking the racerback tank top from my Summer Sweatsuit pattern and turning it into a maxi dress with a side slit. I released the Summer Sweatsuit almost exactly one year ago. I had planned to do some tank hacks then, but never got around to it. So, I’m really happy to finally be sharing this one with you. (Btw, check out the Summer Sewalong for lots of tips and hacks to the shorts patterns.)
DIY Summer Caftan – Review of the Parasol Dress pattern
Hello sew-friends! Today, I'm excited to share a brand new make! I shared in my latest sewing vlog on YouTube that due to migraines and freelance work, I have not been sewing very much this year. I'm very excited that I'm starting to feel in the swing of things again and this dress really helped me jumpstart my practice. I even have a second dress already half-way sewn!
This dress is the Parasol Dress by Cris Wood. I saw the pattern on Instagram the week it launched and bought it pretty much immediately. I really love that Cris's patterns are designed with a no-size, no-pattern style. Much like my Draft-It-Yourself Tasi Robe and Jacket pattern, she provides formulas for the pattern pieces and you input your measurements to draft the rectangle shapes needed for the dress.
