This top all started with the fabric. I found this piece of super soft striped mystery fabric at the Michael Levine LOFT and snatched it right up. It would have made a fabulous scarf. Did I mention it’s super soft? But I decided it would also make a great Lou Box Top. If you're not familiar with the LBT (as I call it), it's a loose fitting top for wovens and knits with three different hem options and two necklines. It's extremely versatile and it's also my most popular pattern.
DIY Zip Back Lou Box Top Variation
Hello lovelies! Today I have yet another variation of the Lou Box Top to share with you. This version is inspired by two lovely sewists that I've had the pleasure of meeting online, Emily of In the Folds and Rebecca from Vida Doce. I have more of these tops than I can count and this one quickly became a favorite. I've been wearing it at least once a week since I finished it, usually with my Birkin Flares (yay! for me-made). But without further ado, on to the details of this top.
DIY Tutorial – Slit Back Lou Box Top
Today I'm excited to share a super simple hack for the Lou Box Top pdf pattern. Back slits are totally on trend right now and they are very easy to make. I made a couple of slit back tops a few years ago using Simplicity 1661 (here and here) and I really like the unexpected drama of a slit back. I knew I'd love this version too. This top is part of my Fall Sewing Plans and (lucky you!) I'm going to tell you how to make it. And, did I mention, it's super, super easy? Yup. Just the way I like it.
