I know some people can't stand putting together pdf patterns but I find it to be pretty quick and easy. I hope that if you're pdf pattern averse, this will help give you a jump start. I love pdf patterns because they are so easy to download (hello, instant gratification!) and if I mess up I can always reprint. Let's get started!
I'm always looking for a way to use fabric scraps and I'm totally in love with this latest DIY. These scraps are from a bin that my great-aunt gave to me that are from silk garments she made over the years. They are totally gorgeous and I'm so pleased that I found a way to use them.
Of course I do wish that I had some genius DIY that used loads of scraps and was easy and beautiful and useful. This one almost makes it. It does everything but it only uses a little bit of fabric. This is a great way to commemorate a special garment and create a precious keepsake. These would be great gifts for Valentine's Day or Mother's Day.
I'm kind of a Christmas tree collector. Every year or two I add another little one to my collection. This year I added a 4 foot tall white one to the collection. To celebrate, I created all new neon ornaments. The beaded tassels are the heroes of the group. They are really fun and easy to make. I think these would be a great craft to make with kids or craft-fearing folks, they're so fun and cheerful, no one can resist their charm.
