Review of the Arenite Pants sewing pattern by Sew Liberated

Today’s garment is the loose-fitting, dare I say hippie-ish, Aren’t Pants by Sew Liberated. These pants feature exaggerated side pockets, a large gathered waistband and flat fell seams running down the center of the front and back legs. They are the ultimate in comfort and utility (those pockets!!). Yet the exaggerated pockets also give the pants are really interesting silhouette that I just could not resist trying.

DIY Beanie and PJ pants – Delia Beanie and Ultimate Pyjamas patterns

Usually I only share one project per post but today I’m sharing two. These are both really easy projects and I already posted about one of the patterns before so, I didn’t really think there would be enough content for a full post. Plus I think they look really cute together! These projects were perfect quick sews to give me a break from the month long pattern launch and sewalong (btw just in case you missed it, I launched the Lou Box Dress 1 and 2 at the beginning of January and have a 12 post sewalong right here). Plus, both makes are perfect for winter lounging at home when I just want to be cozy and warm.

DIY Black Linen Overalls

DIY Black Linen Overalls

Overalls have been bouncing around the edges of fashion trends for a couple of years now (I think it’s a natural progression from the jumpsuit trend). Until recently I was very reticent to try them. I spent a lot of time in the late 90s wearing old denim overalls that once belonged to my Dad. They were perfectly worn in and I loved them. Keep in mind this was the Pacific Northwest during the grunge era. I don’t think I particularly stood out for looking, well, grungy. Eventually I gave up the overalls and decided to never look back.
