I had the best time participating in Me Made May this year and it's really all because of Instagram (plus my relative free time in comparison to last year). I enjoyed seeing other people's DIY wardrobes and the community of sharing the month created.
I fell into taking photos of my daily outfits flat on the floor because I'm not a selfie taker but I am a very careful arranger. (I spent a lot of time this month standing in my skivvies and taking pictures of my clothes. haha!) I really enjoyed thinking about what I wanted to wear each day, how I would accessorize it and then how to fold and arrange it to show off the garment to best affect. Even though you didn't see me in the outfits, I really did wear everything that I showed. No cheating!
I noticed that a few people on instagram became tired of the month and were ready for it to be over. But for me my enthusiasm only grew. As the month went on, I became excited to share things that my followers probably hadn't seen before, things that were special and unusual. I've been sewing regularly since I was in high school so I have lots of "me made" things to wear. These are just a few of the things in my closet that I have made. I still have tons of fancy-ish dresses, swingy skirts and even handknit sweaters!
May was very hot in LA this year and wardrobe was very light. I would love to do this again in a cold month when I can share some knitted items and long sleeve things. Or maybe I should just move somewhere colder!

Whoa! That's a lot of Me-Mades!!!! My quick count is about 40 things and that's only about half of my wardrobe.
