New pattern bundle! Introducing the Work-From-Home mini capsule wardrobe pattern bundle

Introducing the Work-From-Home mini capsule wardrobe pattern bundle

Today, I'm very excited to announce a new pattern bundle, designed with our current pandemic times in mind. This year has changed so many things about our lives, including how we dress. Gone are the days of dressing up to go to the office, putting on pants with zippers and wearing underwire bras. When staying home, my main desire is to be comfortable which means elastic waist pants and mostly loose fitting layers that I can change up with the seasons and throughout the day.

The Work-From-Home Pattern Bundle has all the patterns you need to sew your own functional, versatile and comfortable mini capsule wardrobe. With these patterns, you can make a variety of tops, bottoms and layering pieces, perfectly customized to your everyday style. Plus, the top and layering piece have design options that you can throw on whenever you need to do a video call that requires looking presentable from the top up.

This pattern bundle was inspired partly by a challenge hosted by My Body Model and partly by my Mom. My Body Model recently hosted a challenge to create a sudoku style mini capsule wardrobe made up of nine garments, including three tops, three bottoms and three layering pieces. I had never seen this style of capsule wardrobe before and it got me thinking about how to combine garments in a myriad of ways. Plus, I've always been a big sudoku fan so maybe that's what spoke to me. So, while I started out making a mini vacation wardrobe, I ended up also devising this diy work-from-home wardrobe.

I also need to give a shout out to my mom who for weeks now, has been telling me that she always wears her linen Tasi Jacket on video calls. She loves that she can just pop on the jacket and immediately look professional. And she's been telling me to share that with all of you. For a bit of extra flair, you can also wear a scarf with your jacket. Thanks Mom!

ABOUT THE MINI CAPSULE WARDROBE

Ok. Let's get on to the DIY capsule wardrobe. Following the sudoku style format, there are three tops, all made using the Lou Box Top and the sleeve expansion pack. Next, there are three bottoms, all made using the Summer Sweatsuit shorts pattern and the hacks featured in the sewalong. Last but not least, the three layering pieces are made using the Draft-It-Yourself Tasi Robe and Jacket pattern.

Capsule Wardrobe garments

1. Woven Lou Box Top (blouse style)

2. Summer Joggers (hack)

3. Tasi Robe

4. Tasi Jacket

5. LBT with long sleeves

6. Summer pants (hack)

7. Summer shorts

8. Tasi Cardigan (hack)

9. LBT with cuffs (knit)

Above, is my real-life, me-made capsule wardrobe. Most of these were stash fabrics from a variety of places. All of them are cozy knit fabric with the exception of the Lou Box Top, the Tasi Robe and the Tasi Jacket. I’m honestly pretty surprised that I was able to find all these garments already in my closet AND that they also color coordinate pretty well. I must be buying fabric from a specific palette without even thinking about it.

Above is an image carousel of a few of the outfits that you can make with this mini wardrobe. For the days when you have video calls, I recommend a Lou Box Top made in a beautiful woven print fabric paired with a sophisticated Tasi Jacket. For more casual meetings, you could wear the Tasi Cardigan hack as the layering piece. Depending on the season, you can wear the bottoms of your choice.

For all your other days, you can mix and match to your heart's content with t-shirts, elastic waist bottoms and the cozy robe and cardigan. With nine pieces, there are up to 27 different outfit combinations, not including options for wearing just one or two items on their own. Maybe TMI, but I definitely have spent quite a few mornings wearing only the robe.
